He has 4 points in his last 12 playoff games. None of them goals.

He has some decent individual fancy stats, but a lot of that seems related to the fact that he's been starting 2/3rds of his shifts in the offensive zone.

He has 1.59 points per 60 minutes this year. That has him tied with... Adrian Kempe and is 176th in the NHL (among players with at least 50 games played.)

His numbers look better because he gets a lot more ice time, but he's produced less in his ice time than Brian Boyle has.

I just love you jabrones who act like you know how Simmonds would perform in any particular situation. It takes different types of talent and intangibles that make the chemistry work on a cup winning team. Too much, or too many of any particular type and you become predictable and easy to play against. I’m not as arrogant to label a player as being unable to help a contender or not. I’ll let that up to the GM’s of contenders to do that. You should too!
